The president made the remarks while hosting an interfaith breaking of fast at the Presidential Villa, welcoming religious and traditional leaders from across the nation. He highlighted the vital role of these leaders in promoting moral guidance, stability, and peace within their communities.

“Yes, we face challenges, and terrorists are desperate because they are being defeated. They leave trails of blood, but I assure you, Nigeria will never surrender,” Tinubu said. “We are not discouraged. We are going to win and win well.”

He also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the economy and promoting prosperity, noting that public finances had been stabilised and that pensioners were gradually receiving relief. “We have saved Nigeria from bankruptcy. It was a daunting task, but today we have survived,” he added, highlighting that no state government is currently struggling to pay workers’ salaries.

Tinubu pledged continued investment in critical sectors, including agriculture and education, and urged Nigerians to remain hopeful for a safer, secure, and prosperous country.

In his remarks, Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, thanked the president for hosting leaders of both major religions, saying the gathering symbolised national unity and praying for peace and guidance for the country.

Archbishop Daniel Okoh, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), also assured the president of the church’s support in strengthening security and economic development. Traditional rulers and religious leaders from all six geopolitical zones attended the event.
