###WHY WE KILLED OGUN FRSC OFFICER, DAUGHTER — SUSPECT MANFRIEND, HERBALISTS

Victor Fajemirokun, the boyfriend of the late Federal Road Safety Corps officer, Lasisi Funmilayo, and her daughter, Sewa, has revealed why he lured the victims to their deaths at the hands of herbalists in Osun State.

Fajemirokun, 40, was paraded alongside two herbalists, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James, at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo on Wednesday.

The Osogbo-based businessman admitted that he brought Funmilayo from Ogun to Ijebu-Jesa in Osun State after a Muslim cleric allegedly informed him that she had used spiritual powers to affect his life.

According to reports, 39-year-old Funmilayo and her daughter, Sewa, who had been reported missing in Ogun State, were later discovered dead at a suspected herbalist’s den in Osun, with some body parts mutilated, in what is believed to be a ritual killing.

The victims were reported missing on the morning of Sunday, November 2, after leaving their residence at the Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Fajemirokun told journalists that he informed his wife in Osogbo that he was going to Ikoyi, Osun State, for prayers, but he actually brought Funmilayo along for a spiritual cleansing to free himself from her alleged influence.

He explained, “I met one Gboyega Daramola on TikTok. Funmilayo and I agreed to visit him for spiritual cleansing. During the consultation, he claimed that Funmilayo was causing my misfortune and instructed me to bring her along.

“When we arrived at his place in Ijebu-Ijesa, he told Funmilayo she had to perform rituals and arranged for three men to take her to the bush. It was there that we killed her, and her daughter went with us.

“Afterward, I ran to a mountain in Ikoyi, then to Ibadan. It felt as if I was hypnotized. I never truly wanted this to happen. I only learned about the harvesting of their organs from news reports, which prompted me to return home.”

One of the herbalists, Sunday James, confirmed his role, saying he met Funmilayo and her daughter on November 2 at the house of his boss, Daramola. He said, “My boss told me Victor had been to an alfa who said his girlfriend had used his glory, and we were to kill her and the child. We slit their throats in a bush and dismembered the woman.”

Daramola, accused of ordering the killings, claimed that it was Fajemirokun who instructed the act, denying that he was present during the murders.

According to Osun Police Command CP, Gotan, Fajemirokun had gone missing on November 2 in Ikoyi, where he had claimed to be attending prayers. Investigations led to the arrest of Gboyega Daramola on November 16, who confessed that Fajemirokun had brought Funmilayo and her daughter for a money ritual, resulting in their deaths.

Daramola identified accomplices including Sunday James, Kehinde, and Idowu. The body of Funmilayo was later recovered from Esa-Odo Dam, Osun State, with vital parts missing, and deposited at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

Further intelligence led to the arrest of Sunday James in Ekiti State on November 20. He admitted slaughtering both mother and daughter under Daramola’s orders and led police to recover Sewa Lasisi’s remains from the bush.

Fajemirokun, who masterminded the killings, had initially fled but was apprehended in Ghana through Interpol and repatriated to Nigeria.

CP Gotan assured that all perpetrators would face prosecution after investigations and pledged intensified efforts to apprehend any remaining suspects involved in the crime.
