Isaac Fayose has weighed in on Nyesom Wike’s rising political activity in Rivers State, particularly following the former governor’s recent tours of several local government areas. In a post on Facebook, Fayose noted that Wike appears to be fully re-engaging in active politics, raising questions about whether this will strengthen his influence or jeopardize his political future.

Fayose stressed that Rivers State presents a unique political landscape that cannot be compared to other states under the ruling party. He argued that even if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu chooses to back all APC governors for a second term, such support would not automatically apply to Rivers. According to him, local dynamics, constituent loyalties, and internal party disputes make Rivers distinct.

He further pointed out that Wike’s continued involvement in state politics, despite his position as a federal minister, has intensified tensions within the state. Fayose suggested that while Wike’s actions demonstrate a clear intent to remain politically relevant, overstepping could carry significant risks.
