A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has claimed that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, asked the party not to present a presidential candidate in the 2027 election as a condition for resolving the ongoing crisis within the party.
Speaking in an interview on Arise Television, Sani said Wike stated this during a meeting with the PDP Board of Trustees reconciliation committee. According to him, Wike warned that if the party fails to meet the condition, the conflict between him and the PDP would escalate into a “fight to the finish.”
Meanwhile, the faction of the PDP loyal to Wike, led by factional National Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman, has fixed Tuesday, November 18, for its Board of Trustees and National Executive Council meetings.

The announcement was made by the factional National Secretary, Sam Anyawu, who said the meetings would hold at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja and urged members to attend as crucial issues would be discussed.
The allegation has intensified discussions about the future of the PDP and its internal divisions ahead of the 2027 elections.
