Governor Chukwuma Soludo has thanked the people of Anambra State for re-electing him, describing his victory as a historic moment and a strong vote of confidence in his administration.

Speaking on Sunday after being declared winner alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, Soludo said the election marked a significant increase in voter participation compared to 2021. “Four years ago, you gave us your mandate with 112,000 votes amid low turnout. This time, about 22 percent of registered voters participated — a record in Anambra’s history,” he said.
The governor noted that he is only the third Anambra leader to win re-election since 1999, adding that his 73 percent vote share was the highest margin ever recorded in the state. “I am humbled by this solidarity and support,” he added.
Soludo promised to accelerate development projects, saying his administration would deliver even greater results in the next four years. He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a credible poll.

“The President has proven to be a true democrat. INEC did an excellent job; 99 percent of results were uploaded promptly,” he said.
He extended an olive branch to his opponents, pledging to work with them for the good of the state. Soludo also mourned a councillor from Owerre Ezukala community who was killed after voting, describing the incident as tragic.
Sixteen candidates contested the November 8, 2025, governorship election.
