American Missionary Criticises Tinubu Over Deadly Jos Attack
An American humanitarian, Alex Barbir, has criticised President Bola Tinubu following a deadly attack in Jos, Plateau State, that left several people dead on Palm Sunday.
In a video circulating on X, Barbir, a Florida-based missionary and leader of the humanitarian group Building Zion, expressed outrage over the killing of residents, describing it as part of ongoing violence against Christians in parts of Nigeria.
“They just murdered over 10 people—innocent Christians on Palm Sunday. Tinubu, where are you as your people are slaughtered in the night?” he said.

Barbir accused the federal government of failing to act decisively, arguing that continued attacks are being fuelled by inaction from authorities.
“As you sit in Aso Rock and you do absolutely nothing, you allow your people to be killed again and again. When will it stop? When will you hear the cries of Nigerians?” he added.
The criticism followed an attack on Sunday night in Anguwan Rukuba, Jos North, where gunmen reportedly dressed in military uniforms opened fire on residents. At least 12 people were confirmed dead, while several others sustained injuries.
Barbir, known for his humanitarian efforts in conflict-affected communities, has previously supported victims of violence in Benue State, helping to rebuild homes destroyed during attacks.
