Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on residents of the state to remain vigilant and actively participate in the forthcoming governorship election, urging them to protect their democratic rights through peaceful and lawful means.

Speaking during the launch of his re-election campaign in Osogbo, the governor expressed confidence in securing another term in office, emphasizing that the will of the people would ultimately prevail at the polls.
He reassured supporters that every effort was being made within the confines of the law to safeguard the rights of voters and ensure that democracy remains strong in the state.
Adeleke urged party loyalists and residents to mobilise across communities and polling units, stressing the importance of civic engagement and voter participation in determining the future of the state.

The governor also reiterated his commitment to peaceful elections, rejecting any form of violence or intimidation while encouraging citizens to remain steadfast in defending their constitutional rights.
Meanwhile, political developments within the opposition camp have continued to attract attention following the resignation of several prominent figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.

Among those who recently left the party are Akinsore Omisore, younger brother of former APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lawal Olayemi.
In separate resignation letters submitted to their respective ward chairmen, both politicians cited personal convictions and careful reflection as reasons for their departure from the party.

Akinsore formally withdrew his membership and requested the removal of his name from party records, while Olayemi stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with family members, political associates and stakeholders.
The latest resignations add to a growing list of defections involving supporters linked to Senator Iyiola Omisore, raising fresh questions about internal unity within the APC ahead of the Osun governorship election.
