England’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been disrupted after thieves reportedly targeted a vehicle transporting the team’s training equipment and player gear ahead of the tournament.
The incident occurred while essential supplies were being moved from England’s pre-tournament training camp in Florida to their base at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City.

Among the stolen items were training kits, coaching and performance analysis equipment, tactical materials and a large number of official tournament footballs intended for the team’s preparations.
Reports also indicate that several personalised match boots belonging to key England stars, including captain Harry Kane and midfielder Jude Bellingham, were among the missing items.
Authorities in Kansas City have launched an investigation into the theft, with police confirming that two persons of interest have already been taken into custody as inquiries continue.

The unexpected setback has created additional pressure for England manager Thomas Tuchel and the team’s support staff, who are now working urgently to replace the stolen equipment before the start of the competition.
The Football Association is reportedly coordinating with kit supplier Nike to arrange emergency deliveries from Europe in an effort to ensure the squad has everything required for the tournament.

With England scheduled to face Croatia in their opening Group L match on June 17 in Dallas, officials are racing against time to secure replacement gear and minimise any disruption to the team’s World Cup preparations.
Despite the incident, the squad remains focused on its tournament ambitions as authorities continue efforts to recover the stolen equipment.
