An African Democratic Congress (ADC) aspirant for the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Faith Ugbeshe, has unveiled a five-point agenda she says will guide her legislative priorities if elected.
Speaking with journalists in Lagos, Ugbeshe said her ambition is centred on delivering effective representation, transparency, and development-driven governance for constituents. She added that her past leadership role within the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Amuwo-Odofin gave her grassroots experience that would support her performance at the national assembly level.
She explained that her legislative approach would focus on lawmaking, oversight, budget scrutiny, and ensuring fair allocation of national resources to her constituency.
Her proposed agenda covers key areas including infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education and digital skills expansion, environmental regulation, and energy access improvement.
On infrastructure, she pledged to advocate for better roads, drainage systems, sanitation, and flood control, especially in areas like Festac. On youth development, she promised to promote skill acquisition programmes, entrepreneurship support, and access to federal funding schemes for small businesses.
She also highlighted plans to sponsor legislation that would improve digital learning, expand access to technology hubs, and strengthen school infrastructure. On environmental and energy issues, she said she would push for stricter regulation of industrial activities and promote safer energy systems, including renewable alternatives like solar solutions for homes and small businesses.
Ugbeshe expressed confidence that her agenda would reposition the constituency for sustainable growth while calling for support to secure the party’s ticket ahead of the election.
