Atiku Meets Malami, Tambuwal, Vows ADC Will Liberate Nigeria from Tinubu’s ‘Dictatorship’.

  • Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition will steadfastly oppose President Bola Tinubu’s anti-democratic forces to protect Nigerians’ rights.

During meetings on Monday with Senator Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto South) and former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami, Atiku emphasized the coalition’s commitment to safeguarding democracy. In a post on X, he stated that opposition leaders are united in their mission to rescue Nigeria’s democratic system.

“We will relentlessly defend Nigerians’ rights against the anti-democratic actions of Tinubu’s APC government,” Atiku said. “Our coalition is focused on freeing our democracy from the grip of this emerging dictatorship.”

On September 5, Atiku highlighted incidents in Kaduna, Katsina, and other states as evidence of a slide toward authoritarianism under Tinubu. He cited police invitations to former Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai and ADC leaders, an attack on Malami’s convoy, and the disruption of a Katsina Elders Forum meeting on security reforms as coordinated efforts to suppress dissent.
