A young man from Plateau State identified simply as Nengak has reportedly been beaten to death by a mob in Lagos State after he was caught sleeping with the wife of his employer.
According to information sent to Daily Post by one Bitrus Idi, who claims to be a close friend of the deceased, Nengak worked as a security man for a family in Victoria Garden City, Lagos.
Idi explained that Nengak, who was in his early twenties, served not only as a security guard but also as a general domestic helper. He cooked, washed cars, and took the couple’s children to school.
He added that the husband was rarely at home as he often traveled outside the country.
Being a handsome, strong, and hardworking young man, the employer’s wife reportedly developed interest in him and began inviting him for duties outside his job role, according to Idi.
He further stated that their affair continued for months until the husband discovered what was happening through a CCTV camera he installed after hearing rumors about the alleged relationship.
On the day of the incident, the husband pretended to be traveling out of Lagos. Unknown to Nengak, he had already gathered evidence from the CCTV. He reportedly invited area boys to wait around the premises, and as soon as the wife called Nengak to the master bedroom, they stormed in and caught them.
Nengak was beaten to death, and according to Idi, no case has been officially filed as there is currently no one to fight for justice. He said the body is still in the mortuary, and police have demanded payment for an autopsy and other procedures.
