PRESIDENT TINUBU DIRECTS RENEWED HOPE AMBASSADORS TO TAKE THE ADMINISTRATION’S SCORECARD TO THE GRASSROOTS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on the ‘Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ to take the message of his administration’s reforms to grassroots communities to ensure Nigerians understand government policies and programmes.

Speaking at the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) Renewed Hope Ambassadors Strategic Summit at the State House Conference Hall, Abuja, Tinubu stressed that public understanding, participation, and feedback are essential for the success of any reform initiative.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, are tasked with promoting awareness about the administration’s programmes and achievements. Represented at the summit by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu said the administration has shifted its focus from economic stabilisation to rapid expansion and resilience-building.

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Prof. Netanwe Yilwatda noted that the 2027 general election would serve as a referendum on the impact of these reforms and the leadership displayed by the president. He urged party members to maintain unity and present a consistent message to the public.

Tinubu highlighted that ambassadors have the responsibility to explain to citizens why difficult decisions were necessary and how they translate into jobs, security, enterprise, opportunity, and a stable future. He encouraged them to counter misinformation with verified facts and serve as a feedback mechanism by conveying community concerns back to the government.

The president hailed the administration’s achievements over its first 1,000 days, citing progress in stabilising the economy, moderating inflation, easing fuel prices, and strengthening the naira. He noted that investor confidence is growing, pointing out that Nigeria attracted five out of seven major investment decisions in Africa last year.

The President also highlighted the N58.18 trillion 2026 budget, which will facilitate capital projects, fund security more effectively, and implement tax reforms aimed at protecting vulnerable citizens and promoting transparency in public finances.

Uzodimma added that the administration’s reforms have produced measurable results across key sectors, including foreign reserves growth, declining inflation, improved oil production, and implementation of the new national minimum wage.

House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas stressed that the National Assembly will continue to support the government’s socio-economic measures to ensure accountability and sustainability. He urged that the progress of the administration be showcased to Nigerians and emphasized the importance of promoting programmes such as the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, aimed at increasing productive engagement, boosting non-oil revenue, lowering interest rates, and supporting infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, and digital innovation.
