A review of the Edo State approved 2026 budget by reports has revealed that the Edo State House of Assembly Commission has allocated N50 million for the purchase of a single Sharp photocopier machine.
The budget also includes:
– N1 billion for the purchase of an armoured vehicle for the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
– N4.6 billion for vehicles for the 25 members of the State House of Assembly.
– N250 million for the construction of a new legislative building.
– N60 million for the renovation of the Speaker’s guest house.
– N170 million to purchase one Toyota Camry (2016 model) and seven Toyota Corolla (2016 models) for the Chairman, members, and Secretary of the House of Assembly Commission.
– N50 million for refrigerators and other equipment for four directors.
– N200 million for roof and window replacement at the Commission’s office building.
These allocations have drawn attention amid ongoing discussions about fiscal responsibility and priority spending in state governance.
