Two residents of Rim Village in Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State, were killed, and two others injured after suspected armed bandits launched a late-night raid on Tuesday. The attack, which lasted several minutes, forced residents to flee in panic as gunmen opened fire indiscriminately before escaping into nearby bushes.

Eyewitnesses said the assailants invaded the village at around 10:30 p.m., firing sporadically and causing widespread fear. The injured victims were quickly taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Rwang Tengwong, National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Movement (BYM), confirmed the fatalities and injuries, describing the assault as part of a disturbing trend of violent incidents in Riyom and other parts of Plateau State. He urged security agencies to intensify patrols and ensure those responsible are apprehended.

Residents of Rim Village are reportedly living in fear following repeated attacks in the area, highlighting ongoing insecurity challenges in the region. The Plateau State Police Command has not yet released an official statement on the incident.
