President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved new appointments and renewals across key education institutions under the Federal Ministry of Education, including the National Examination Council (NECO), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the Federal Polytechnic N’yak-Shendam, and the National Library of Nigeria.

For NECO, the President appointed Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu as Chairman of the Governing Board, while retaining Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as Registrar of the council.
Professor Adelabu is a retired Professor of Educational Administration at Obafemi Awolowo University and former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State. She previously served as Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education between 2018 and 2021.

At the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Professor Babatunde Salako has been appointed as Chairman. He is a well-known academic and researcher who previously served as Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, where he led major reforms and institutional improvements.
For the Federal Polytechnic N’yak-Shendam in Plateau State, Engr. Dr Bongfa Binfa has been appointed Rector for a single five-year term, following the completion of the tenure of the pioneer rector, Dr Mukaila Zakari Ya’u. Dr Binfa previously served as Deputy Rector (Academic) at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, and has a background in mechanical engineering.

In addition, President Tinubu renewed the tenure of Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi as Director/Chief Executive of the National Library of Nigeria for another five years. She was first appointed in 2021.
Since assuming office, she has led reforms aimed at modernising the National Library system, including digital initiatives such as national repositories and virtual library services, as well as efforts to complete the library’s headquarters project in Abuja.

The Presidency stated that the renewals and new appointments are intended to strengthen leadership, ensure continuity of reforms, and improve service delivery across Nigeria’s education and knowledge institutions.
