Political leaders from Enugu State have declared their full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Tuesday when Governor Peter Mbah led a high-level delegation of Enugu leaders to the Presidential Villa in Abuja to meet with the President.

The delegation, which represented the state’s estimated seven million residents, included prominent figures such as Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, former Senate President Ken Nnamani, former Chiefs of Naval and Air Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla and Air Marshal Kelvin Aneke, as well as former governors Sullivan Chime and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, among other political, traditional, and religious leaders.
During the meeting, President Tinubu thanked the delegation for their support and said their testimonies of progress in Enugu State reflect the impact of his administration’s economic reforms.

He commended state governors for effectively using increased federal allocations to improve infrastructure, healthcare, education, and general welfare at the subnational level.
Tinubu also noted that recent political realignments in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were largely influenced by the outcomes of ongoing economic reforms, adding that Governor Mbah had aligned with the APC following federal support for development projects in Enugu State.
The President highlighted key infrastructure priorities such as the Port Harcourt–Enugu rail line and power sector reforms, stating that his administration remains committed to expanding national development projects.

He also praised Governor Mbah for efforts in improving security, healthcare delivery, education, and infrastructure within the state, describing the progress as visible and impactful.
Tinubu further stressed the importance of collaboration between federal, state, and local governments, saying development requires collective effort across all levels of governance.
He assured the delegation that the government would continue to support ongoing projects and deepen reforms aimed at national economic growth.

Responding, Governor Peter Mbah said the visit was to express gratitude for federal support and reaffirm Enugu State’s solidarity with the President.
He described the relationship between the state and the federal government as productive, noting that several major projects inaugurated during Tinubu’s visit to Enugu had significantly boosted development in the state.
Mbah also stated that the delegation represented the collective voice of millions of Enugu citizens who appreciate the President’s interventions in infrastructure and governance.

Former Senate President Ken Nnamani also praised the President’s support for the South-East, particularly in infrastructure development, and affirmed the region’s backing for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
