Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has stirred conversation online after claiming that Peter Obi has struggled politically in recent times due to a past oath linked to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
In a post shared on his X account, the actor suggested that Obi’s presidential ambition is closely tied to APGA, the party he was once strongly associated with. He alleged that Obi had made a commitment never to leave the party, and that stepping away from it has affected his political progress.
Edochie further argued that such oaths carry significant weight and may be influencing Obi’s inability to secure major political victories since leaving APGA. He also questioned Obi’s current political alignment, noting that efforts outside the party may not yield the desired results.
Peter Obi, who previously served as governor of Anambra State, gained widespread attention during the 2023 presidential election, finishing third with over six million votes. His performance surprised many observers and positioned him as a strong political figure going forward.
In recent developments, Obi has moved on from the Labour Party and is now seeking a presidential ticket under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside notable figures like Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi.
