The presidency has clarified that Wale Edun and Musa Dangiwa stepped down from their roles as members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), rather than being dismissed.

According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Edun resigned due to health concerns, while Dangiwa also voluntarily exited the cabinet, expressing gratitude to Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve.

Edun, who recently turned 70, reportedly submitted his resignation on his birthday. He later paid a farewell visit to the president at the State House, where both men held a private meeting before he departed to focus on personal business interests.
The presidency noted that this development preceded the official announcement of a minor cabinet reshuffle by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Following the changes, Taiwo Oyedele has been appointed to take over the finance portfolio, while Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named as minister-designate for housing and urban development.
