Ikeja Electric has attributed the ongoing electricity disruptions in Lagos to reduced power allocation from the national grid, leading to persistent outages across several communities.
In a statement shared on its official X platform, the electricity distribution company apologised to customers affected by the unstable power supply and explained that the shortage has impacted multiple areas within its network coverage.

According to the company, temporary load shedding measures have been introduced to manage the limited electricity available and maintain stability within the system.
Ikeja Electric stated that the controlled rationing of electricity is aimed at ensuring a fair distribution of available power across affected feeders and locations while preventing further pressure on the grid.

The company also disclosed that it is working closely with stakeholders in the electricity sector to improve supply conditions and minimise the impact of the disruptions on consumers.
The latest development comes amid continuing electricity challenges in Lagos and several other parts of Nigeria, with ongoing gas supply problems reportedly affecting power generation nationwide.

The shortages have persisted despite recent efforts by some state authorities to reduce dependence on the national grid and improve local energy solutions.
