The Nigerian government has approved a 30-day visa-free entry policy for citizens of Rwanda, a move aimed at improving travel and strengthening ties between both countries.

The Nigeria Immigration Service confirmed on Friday that all preparations had been completed following the directive issued by President Bola Tinubu.

The development follows growing diplomatic discussions between Nigeria and Rwanda focused on boosting cooperation and advancing African unity.
Tinubu recently visited Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum, where he met with President Paul Kagame at the Urugwiro Presidential Villa.

During their discussions, both leaders explored partnerships in trade, tourism, security cooperation and regional integration. Tinubu also hinted that Nigeria was considering matching Rwanda’s existing visa-free policy for Nigerians as part of broader efforts to encourage Pan-African collaboration and closer relationships among African nations.
The new visa arrangement is expected to improve movement between the two countries while encouraging business opportunities, tourism and stronger diplomatic relations.
