Peoples Democratic Party has concluded senatorial primary and affirmation exercises in several states ahead of the 2027 general elections, producing candidates across Kogi, Imo, Benue, Gombe, Katsina, Ebonyi, and Abia states.

In Kogi State, incumbent senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was affirmed as the party’s candidate for Kogi Central after a district-wide exercise conducted across all 57 wards. Speaking after the exercise, she expressed appreciation to party supporters and pledged continued commitment to development and inclusive representation in the district.

In Imo State, former deputy governor Eze Madumere emerged as the PDP consensus candidate for Imo East Senatorial District during a primary held in Owerri. The party also announced Jones Onyereri for Imo West and Mike Duru Ejiogu for Imo North.
Meanwhile, in Benue State, former first lady Eunice Ortom secured the PDP ticket for Benue North-West Senatorial District. Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro also clinched the party’s ticket for Benue South.

In Gombe State, former governor Ibrahim Dankwambo was affirmed as the consensus candidate for Gombe North Senatorial District.
The PDP in Katsina State endorsed Hamisu Gambo, popularly known as Dan Lawan, as consensus candidate for Katsina Central, while Nura Khalil emerged as the party’s choice for Funtua Senatorial District.

In Ebonyi State, Maria Nwachi won the PDP primary for Ebonyi South Senatorial District after polling 2,299 votes.
The party also unveiled its senatorial candidates in Abia State, with Jude Udeachara emerging for Abia North, Bob Ogu for Abia Central, and Chinyere Onuoha for Abia South.
Party officials across the states described the exercises as peaceful and successful, expressing confidence in the PDP’s chances ahead of the 2027 elections.
