The governor made this known in his latest newsletter, stating that security agencies have continued intensive operations to secure the safe release of the victims, who have remained in captivity for 27 days.

Makinde described the situation as heartbreaking, noting that the prolonged abduction has left affected families and communities in deep distress and uncertainty.

According to him, the government understands the pain being experienced by relatives of the victims and remains fully committed to ensuring their safe return.

The governor acknowledged that previous assurances may have become difficult for many people to believe due to the length of time the victims have been held, but insisted that authorities are working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the ordeal to an end.

He explained that operational details could not be disclosed publicly for security reasons, adding that law enforcement agencies are pursuing all credible intelligence and lawful measures available to secure the release of those abducted.

Makinde also reassured parents, relatives, friends, and colleagues of the victims that their loved ones have not been forgotten and remain the top priority of ongoing rescue efforts.

Providing further insight into the operation, the governor said intelligence reports indicate that the abducted pupils and teachers are still within the expansive Old Oyo National Park corridor, an area spanning about 2,500 square kilometres across parts of 10 local government areas in Oyo State.

He noted that the vast size and challenging terrain of the region have complicated rescue operations, making the mission more demanding for security personnel.

Despite these difficulties, Makinde urged residents to remain patient and vigilant, stressing that the situation extends beyond Oriire Local Government Area and requires collective concern and support.

He maintained that security agencies remain determined in their efforts and will continue working relentlessly until the victims are safely reunited with their families.
