Morocco delivered an early shock in the 21st minute when Ismael Saibari latched onto a precise through ball from Brahim Díaz and calmly lifted his finish over advancing goalkeeper Alisson to give his side the lead.
Brazil responded before halftime, with Vinicius Junior producing a moment of brilliance. The forward cut in from the left side of the penalty area and fired a powerful strike into the top corner in the 32nd minute to bring the five-time champions level.
After the match, Guimaraes expressed frustration with the playing surface, describing it as unusually dry and difficult to adapt to. While stressing that it was not an excuse, he admitted the conditions contributed to several passing errors and disrupted Brazil’s rhythm throughout the game.
He added that Brazil’s playing style depends heavily on precise ball control and possession, noting that frequent mistakes made it difficult for the team to impose their usual dominance under pressure.
The result leaves both sides with a point each in a competitive Group C that also includes Scotland and Haiti, keeping qualification for the knockout stages open.
The draw represents a mixed start for Brazil under head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who was without star forward Neymar due to injury.
