The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Labour Party (LP) have confirmed receiving access codes from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enable the upload of their candidates’ details for the 2027 general elections.
ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed that the party received the access codes earlier in the week, allowing it to begin the process of submitting candidates through the commission’s portal.

The Labour Party also confirmed receiving the credentials, with its National Publicity Secretary stating that the party’s national leadership had taken delivery of the codes issued by INEC.
Reports also indicate that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has received its access codes. However, it remains unclear whether the party has commenced distributing them to its candidates amid ongoing internal disputes arising from its nomination process.

Several aggrieved APC aspirants are said to have submitted petitions to the party’s national secretariat, while party leaders in some states have intervened to resolve disagreements and prevent further tensions.
Meanwhile, a Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered INEC to generate and release access codes to the leadership of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) for the purpose of registering the association as a political party.

The court ruled that the commission must issue the codes to the recognised interim leadership within 72 hours, declaring the earlier release of the credentials to another individual invalid. It also directed INEC to reopen its portal for one week to allow the association upload required registration documents, including its membership register.

In Gombe State, the APC formally presented INEC nomination forms to its governorship, senatorial and House of Representatives candidates, marking the completion of the party’s internal nomination process ahead of the legal submission of candidates to the electoral commission.
The presentation signified the party’s readiness to proceed with the next stage of the electoral process as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue.
