The Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, has inaugurated two new judicial facilities in Ijebu North Local Government Area—a reconstructed Magistrates’ Court Complex in Ago-Iwoye and a newly completed Customary Court in Oru-Ijebu.
The projects were made possible through the efforts of local communities and traditional rulers, highlighting growing community participation in strengthening the justice system.

The inauguration comes just days after Justice Dipeolu commissioned a purpose-built Multi-Door Courthouse in Idi-Oke/Igbesa, which was donated by the Olu of Idi-Oke Kingdom, Oba Saheed Ifalohun Odusanya, to commemorate his 10th coronation anniversary.
Speaking during the inauguration in Ago-Iwoye, the Chief Judge praised the community for rebuilding the Magistrates’ Court Complex, which had deteriorated over the years due to age and weather conditions.

She described the project as a reflection of the community’s commitment to the rule of law and commended the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Rasaq Adenugba, for mobilising residents to make the reconstruction a reality.
Justice Dipeolu also acknowledged Ago-Iwoye’s contributions to the state’s judiciary, noting that the town, which hosts Olabisi Onabanjo University, has consistently produced legal professionals and judicial officers who have served the state.
At Oru-Ijebu, she inaugurated the newly constructed Customary Court and applauded the Oloru of Oru-Ijebu, Oba AbdulRasaq Adebanjo, alongside other stakeholders, including Professor Taiwo Oshipitan and Justice I. A. Odugbesan, for supporting the project.

She emphasised the important role of Customary Courts in delivering justice at the grassroots, noting that they are often the first point of contact for citizens seeking legal resolution in matters involving family disputes, inheritance, land issues and customary law.
Justice Dipeolu reminded judicial officers that the effectiveness of any court depends not on the building itself but on the integrity, fairness, diligence and professionalism of those who administer justice.
She also encouraged members of the public to continue resolving disputes through lawful channels and expressed hope that the community-driven projects would inspire similar investments in judicial infrastructure across Ogun State.
