Sunbeth Energies Limited has launched Nigeria’s first self-service fuel station at its Ogba outlet in Lagos, introducing a digital fueling system that allows customers to purchase fuel independently through a secure and easy-to-use platform.
The company said the innovation marks a significant step toward modernizing Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector by improving transparency, convenience, and customer experience.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director of Sunbeth Energies Limited, Lateef Abioye, described the project as a landmark achievement for both the company and the country’s energy industry.
He explained that the self-service station gives customers full control over the fueling process, allowing them to initiate purchases, monitor fuel dispensing in real time, and complete payments without assistance.
Abioye also emphasized that the technology was developed locally in collaboration with Nigerian technology firm Tech Brokers Limited, demonstrating the country’s ability to create world-class digital solutions for local challenges.

According to him, the Ogba station is the first phase of a broader digital transformation plan that will see similar technology deployed across the company’s retail outlets. He added that Sunbeth Energies aims to build smart fuel stations powered by automation, digital payments, and data-driven services to enhance customer satisfaction.
Chief Executive Officer of Tech Brokers Limited, Wasiu Popoola, described the launch as a major milestone in the digital transformation of Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas industry.
He said the platform was built to support multiple payment channels and existing fuel station technologies while remaining flexible enough to integrate future innovations as the sector continues to evolve.

Popoola praised Sunbeth Energies for embracing innovation and partnering to deliver a locally developed solution capable of transforming fuel retail operations across the country.
One of the first customers to use the self-service station expressed satisfaction with the experience, noting that the ability to personally manage the fueling process and monitor every litre dispensed increased confidence in the transaction.

Sunbeth Energies stated that the new platform enables customers to oversee every stage of the fueling process, from initiating a purchase to confirming payment, providing greater transparency, accountability, and convenience.
The company added that the technology reflects its commitment to driving innovation and improving service delivery within Nigeria’s energy sector.
