The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State has announced the expulsion of Hon. George Olawande Adegeye, the House of Representatives member for Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency, over allegations of anti-party conduct, insubordination, and interference with party leadership structures.
The decision was communicated in a formal statement signed by key local party executives, including the Ward Chairman, Hon. Ola Olajide, the Secretary, Hon. Faith Kelechi, the Women Leader, Hon. Wisdom Ajogu, and several other officials. The resolution followed an emergency meeting held at Ward B in Festac Town on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
According to the party, Adegeye was found to have repeatedly acted in ways that undermined the authority of duly recognized party leadership at both ward and local government levels. The chapter also claimed he had not properly aligned himself with the party structure despite participating in its activities.

The statement further alleged that the lawmaker failed to acknowledge established leadership within the party, which the group said encouraged internal disunity and disciplinary breaches. It also referenced provisions of the Electoral Act, suggesting he had not met requirements related to membership duration for electoral eligibility.
The party claimed that Adegeye organized a political event without involving official leadership, an action they said deepened internal divisions. It also alleged that many attendees at the event were sympathizers of another political party, raising questions about his political loyalty.

Further accusations included claims that he influenced the composition of a harmonized party list without due process, prompting official representatives to distance themselves from it. The chapter also accused him of attempting to alter established leadership arrangements at both ward and LGA levels.

The party concluded that these actions amounted to clear violations of its constitution, leading members at the emergency meeting to unanimously approve his expulsion from the party.
Efforts to obtain a response from Adegeye were unsuccessful as he did not reply to messages sent to him.
