The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has constituted a 73-member Election Management Council to coordinate its campaign and mobilisation efforts ahead of the Osun State governorship election.
Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator, Aminu Tambuwal; former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha; former Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke; and retired General Kabiru Nadama are among the prominent leaders appointed to the council.
Imoke will lead the council, while Tambuwal will serve as chairperson, with Ihedioha and Nadama as co-chairmen.
The ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, announced the composition of the council in a statement issued on Sunday.
The council is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the party’s campaign activities in the state, including mobilisation and preparations for its final campaign rally.
The party’s campaign will culminate on Monday, August 10, with a final rally at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo, beginning at noon.
According to the ADC, the rally will bring together its national leaders, governorship candidate, coalition leaders, campaign officials, supporters and members of the public.
The party directed all members of the campaign council to attend the rally.
The constitution of the council is part of the ADC’s intensified preparations for the Osun governorship election, with the party deploying prominent figures from its national leadership and political coalition to coordinate its activities in the state.
