Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has denied reports that his victory in the recent governorship election was secured through an electoral agreement or partnership with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Adeleke, in a statement, said the ADC had no involvement in his campaign or the political coalition that worked towards his re-election.
The governor stated that there was no electoral deal or partnership between his administration and the ADC before, during or after the election.
According to him, the credit for his victory belongs to God and the people of Osun State, whom he said overwhelmingly supported his bid for another term.
Adeleke also clarified that the ADC was not part of the coalition of political groups and supporters that mobilised voters and campaigned for his re-election.
He said the clarification was necessary to set the record straight and preserve an accurate account of the political events surrounding the election.
The governor maintained that his campaign’s victory was driven by the support of Osun residents and the coalition of political forces that actually participated in the election effort.

His comments come amid political discussions over the growing influence of the ADC and its role in Nigeria’s opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adeleke’s position therefore seeks to distance his re-election campaign from any alleged alliance with the opposition party, insisting that the ADC had no role in securing his victory.
