Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised concerns over reported threats to peace and security in Ikirun, directing the Commissioner of Police to immediately address allegations of harassment against kingmakers and community leaders in the town.
The governor’s reaction followed a distress message reportedly sent by some leaders in Ikirun, alleging that unidentified security operatives had been intimidating and harassing kingmakers since the early hours of the day without clear justification.
In response, Adeleke warned against any actions capable of disrupting the peace and stability currently being enjoyed in the community.

He specifically instructed the state police command to ensure the safety of the kingmakers, community leaders, residents, and the palace, stressing that law and order must be maintained at all times.
“We must not jeopardise the prevailing peace in the town,” the governor stated.
A statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, said the governor had directed security authorities to stop the alleged harassment and ensure that all parties act within the law.
The governor also appealed for calm among residents while security agencies carry out their responsibilities professionally and without bias.
