Senate President Godswill Akpabio has appointed Chinedu Akabueze, outgoing Senate Clerk, as his new Chief of Staff.
Akabueze, who has served as Senate Clerk since March 2022, is set to retire after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60. He succeeds Sylvester Okonkwo, who was recently appointed by President Bola Tinubu as the Executive Director of the newly established South East Development Commission.
In his remarks, Akpabio commended Akabueze for his unwavering commitment and exemplary service during the 9th and 10th Senates.
Meanwhile, Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba has been confirmed as the new Senate Clerk, with his appointment taking effect from December 11, 2024.
