APC RELEASES NATIONWIDE CAMPAIGN RALLY SCHEDULE AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS

Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a proposed nationwide campaign rally schedule ahead of the 2027 general elections, outlining activities across the country’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The timetable indicates that the party’s presidential campaign will officially commence in Kaduna State on 24 October 2026, with a major closing rally scheduled to take place in Lagos State on 9 January 2027.

The proposed programme covers Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, with rallies planned in state capitals and other major locations as the party seeks to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

According to the schedule, 12 locations have been marked for expected presidential attendance, although the timetable remains subject to official confirmation.

MPAIGN TO BEGIN IN KADUNA

Kaduna State will host the official flag-off of the APC’s nationwide campaign on 24 October 2026.

The campaign activities will continue in November, beginning with Calabar, Cross River State, on 2 November, followed by Gombe on 3 November and Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on 5 November.

Other scheduled locations for November include Port Harcourt, Rivers State; Abakaliki, Ebonyi State; Dutse, Jigawa State; Akure, Ondo State; Benin City, Edo State; Jos, Plateau State; Damaturu, Yobe State; Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State; Uyo, Akwa Ibom State; Awka, Anambra State; Ibadan, Oyo State; Maiduguri, Borno State; Enugu, Enugu State; and Bauchi, Bauchi State.

The programme is designed to take the party’s campaign message across different parts of the country ahead of the presidential election.

DECEMBER RALLIES TO COVER MORE STATES

The campaign schedule will continue throughout December, with rallies planned across the North-West, North-East, North-Central, South-West, South-East and South-South geopolitical zones.

The December programme includes Katsina on 2 December, Abeokuta in Ogun State on 3 December, Lafia in Nasarawa State on 4 December and Sokoto on 5 December.

The party is also expected to hold rallies in Umuahia, Abia State, on 7 December; Lokoja, Kogi State, on 8 December; Osogbo, Osun State, on 9 December; and Ilorin, Kwara State, on 10 December.

Further activities are scheduled for Asaba, Delta State, on 12 December; Gusau, Zamfara State, on 14 December; Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on 15 December; Minna, Niger State, on 16 December; Kano on 17 December; and Jalingo, Taraba State, on 19 December.

The timetable also lists Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, for 21 December, while Owerri, Imo State, is scheduled to host a rally on 30 December.

TINUBU EXPECTED AT SELECTED CAMPAIGN RALLIES

President Tinubu is expected to attend rallies in 12 locations during the campaign period, according to the published timetable.

These include Kaduna, Port Harcourt, Jos, Ibadan, Maiduguri, Enugu, Bauchi, Sokoto, Asaba, Kano, Yola and Lagos.

The schedule suggests that other APC leaders and members of the presidential campaign council will handle campaign activities in the remaining states and the FCT.

Tinubu has previously indicated that his responsibilities as President would limit his ability to accompany the campaign team to every location. He said he would continue performing his duties as head of government while making time to address Nigerians directly during the electioneering period.

LAGOS TO HOST GRAND FINALE

The nationwide campaign is scheduled to extend into January 2027, with a rally planned for Yola, Adamawa State, on 4 January.

Lagos State will host the major closing rally on Saturday, 9 January 2027, bringing the proposed nationwide programme to an end.

The campaign is expected to provide the APC with an opportunity to present its achievements, communicate its policy priorities and mobilise voters ahead of the presidential election.

However, the schedule is described as proposed and remains subject to official confirmation.

With the 2027 general elections approaching, the APC’s nationwide campaign will form part of its efforts to consolidate support across the country as Tinubu seeks another presidential mandate.
