At least 11 people are feared dead following an early-morning attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Zaranga village, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The attackers reportedly stormed the community on Monday, shooting residents and setting several houses on fire.
A resident said 11 bodies had been recovered, while several other people were still unaccounted for. Security personnel and local search teams were said to have entered nearby forests in an effort to locate those missing.
Another resident reportedly lost his wife and two other family members in the attack.
The Adamawa State Police Command had not confirmed the incident as of the time of filing the report, as repeated attempts to reach the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, were unsuccessful.
