BREAKING! Update: Police Recover Stolen Vehicle as Hunt Intensifies for Killers of Ex-OGTV Broadcaster, Aunty Kitan
By Headlinenews.News
Fresh hope has emerged in the investigation into the gruesome murder of former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Madam Kitan Oyesiku, fondly known as “Aunty Kitan,” and her security guard, following the recovery of the vehicle allegedly stolen from her residence after the attack.

Police sources confirmed to Headlinenews.News that the vehicle taken from the deceased’s home has been recovered, marking what investigators believe is a significant breakthrough in the effort to unravel the circumstances surrounding the double murder that shocked Ogun State and the broadcasting community.
The development comes barely hours after Headlinenews.News reported the tragic killing of the respected retired broadcaster at her residence in Agodo community along the Abeokuta-Siun-Sagamu Expressway.
In a reassuring message to concerned Nigerians, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, AIG Olohundare Jimoh, which covers Lagos and Ogun states, pledged that investigators would spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

“We will do our best and leave no stone unturned in getting all the suspects involved arrested and prosecuted,” the senior police officer assured.
The assurance has rekindled hope among family members, friends and colleagues of the late broadcaster, who has been widely described as a humble, hardworking and compassionate woman whose death has left a painful vacuum.
The National Patriots, which earlier petitioned the AIG over the matter, commended the renewed determination of the Nigeria Police and promised to continue supporting efforts aimed at ensuring that the truth is uncovered and that those responsible are brought before the law.
“The recovery of the stolen vehicle is an encouraging development. We have confidence in the intelligence-driven approach being championed by AIG Olohundare Jimoh and IGP Kayode Egbetokun. The perpetrators of this evil must not escape justice,” the group stated.
The organization also used the opportunity to urge Nigerians to be more security conscious, particularly in the employment of domestic workers, drivers and other staff.

According to the National Patriots, the prevailing security environment demands that employers conduct thorough background checks, verify identities and references, and maintain proactive security measures around homes and workplaces.
Security experts have repeatedly warned that insider involvement and negligence in recruitment processes have become recurring features in many violent crimes and kidnappings across the country.
The murder of Madam Oyesiku has once again highlighted the importance of vigilance and intelligence gathering in protecting vulnerable citizens, especially retirees and the elderly.
As investigators tighten the net around those behind the heinous crime, family members and admirers of the late broadcaster continue to pray that justice will prevail.
For now, the recovery of the stolen vehicle represents more than an investigative breakthrough.

It is a reminder that evil may hide, but truth has a way of leaving tracks.
And with the renewed resolve of the Nigeria Police, many are hopeful that those tracks will soon lead to the killers of a woman remembered by all simply as “Aunty Kitan”—a lovely soul whose life was dedicated to service and kindness.
Madam Kitan Oyesiku belonged to a distinguished generation of women shaped by some of Nigeria’s finest institutions. She attended the prestigious Queen’s College, Lagos, which has produced eminent personalities including Chief Justices, Judges, Ambassadors, Presidential Aides, Rear Admirals, Heads of Government, Permanent Secretaries, Professors, Doctors, Vice-Chancellors and other accomplished leaders, among them the Publisher of Headlinenews.News and President of the National Patriots. She later attended Holy Child College, Lagos, alma mater of notable Nigerians including the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.

She was also the daughter of the late Mrs. Margaret Oladunni Abeke Oyesiku (née Olaleye- Oluwa), herself an illustrious Old Girl of Holy Child College, Lagos, belonging to the 1948–1953 set. Mrs. Margaret Oyesiku passed on in February 2023 at the age of 88, leaving behind a legacy of grace, discipline and devotion to family and community.
Madam Kitan’s sister, Mrs. Dupe Olurin, rose to become a Permanent Secretary in the Ogun State Government, further reflecting the family’s tradition of service and excellence.
As family, friends, classmates, church members and admirers mourn the painful loss of this accomplished and beloved woman, prayers continue for the peaceful repose of her soul.
May Almighty God grant Madam Kitan Oyesiku eternal rest in the blossom of our Lord and reunite her with her departed loved ones in His everlasting peace. May He comfort all those she left behind and grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace. Amen.
