The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Aminu Datti Ahmed before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Jabi, Abuja, over the alleged misappropriation of ₦15 million that was mistakenly paid into his bank account.
Ahmed appeared before Justice M.S. Idris on Thursday on a one-count charge of allegedly converting money that was not meant for him to personal use.

According to the EFCC, the ₦15 million was mistakenly transferred into Ahmed’s Taj Bank account in 2025. The commission said the money was originally intended for Braverock Investment Limited as payment for a property transaction but was instead credited to Ahmed’s account.
The anti-graft agency alleged that rather than returning the funds, Ahmed, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Blackrock Apartments & Suites Limited, used the money for personal purposes.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Following his plea, EFCC prosecutor N.M. Tertsua asked the court to fix a trial date and remand the defendant in a correctional facility.
However, Ahmed’s lawyer, Isyaku Musa, applied for bail, a request the prosecution did not oppose.
Justice Idris granted Ahmed bail in the sum of ₦10 million with two sureties. The court ordered that one of the sureties must be a businessman with a valid business registration certificate and must swear to an affidavit supporting the bail bond.
The case was adjourned until October 21, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
