#FG Announces February 2025 Date for National Youth Conference

The Federal Government has confirmed that the long-awaited National Youth Conference will take place in the first week of February 2025.

This announcement comes after months of criticism from youth organizations, who accused the Bola Tinubu administration of delaying a key promise made during the President’s Independence Day address.

The conference will address pressing issues like youth unemployment, education, and political participation, providing a platform for young Nigerians to contribute to nation-building.

Youth groups, including the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Yoruba Youths Council, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, have expressed frustration over the delay, calling for urgent action to prioritize youth concerns.

The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, assured that this year’s event would focus on actionable outcomes, adopting a grassroots-oriented and result-driven approach. He also revealed that President Tinubu will inaugurate delegates by mid-January.

With renewed government commitment, the National Youth Conference aims to empower Nigerian youth and strengthen their role in shaping the nation’s future.
