Katsina State Governor, Umaru Dikko Radda, has pledged loyalty to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he would never act against their interests due to the goodwill he received from Buhari during his lifetime.
The governor made the remarks while receiving APC stakeholders from the Daura, Mai’adua, and Sandamu Federal Constituency, who visited to introduce Yusuf Buhari, son of the late president, as a political aspirant from the area.
Radda recalled his long-standing association with Buhari dating back to 2015, noting that he remains grateful for the former president’s support and reputation.
He stated that in a democratic system, the All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot restrict individuals from contesting elections, adding that Yusuf Buhari is free to pursue his political ambitions just like any other aspirant.
The governor also advised Yusuf to work towards building his own identity in politics as he begins his political journey.
Yusuf Buhari, in his remarks, expressed appreciation to the delegation and supporters, assuring them that he would not disappoint their confidence and would strive to meet their expectations.
As part of his political consultations, Yusuf Buhari and the stakeholders also paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmuminu Kabir Usman, seeking his blessings ahead of the APC primaries and the 2027 general elections.
