Former Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, has announced his intention to contest for the Kaduna North Senatorial District seat, stating that his decision came after consistent calls and strong backing from stakeholders within the area.
In a statement, Yero said he accepted the appeal to run in response to widespread confidence expressed by people across the district who urged him to step forward and serve.

He explained that his decision was further strengthened during a visit by local government chairmen from the senatorial zone, who jointly pledged their support for his aspiration.
Yero described the endorsement as a clear sign of unity and shared purpose, noting that he was taking on the responsibility with humility and dedication to the people.
According to him, the encouragement from community leaders and residents reflects a collective desire to improve representation and drive development across the district.

He expressed gratitude to the council chairmen and supporters for their trust, saying leadership must always be guided by fairness, justice, and service to the people.
The former governor also commended Governor Uba Sani for what he called focused leadership and efforts toward promoting unity and progress in Kaduna State.

Yero called on party members, stakeholders, and residents to remain united and peaceful as they work toward the growth and development of the senatorial district.
He added that his ambition is driven by a commitment to effective representation and improving the welfare of the people.

Yero concluded by expressing confidence that with unity and cooperation, Kaduna North could achieve greater progress and development.
