The Kogi State Government and key political stakeholders have declared their strong backing for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing the administration’s economic reforms and infrastructure projects as reasons for their support.
The declaration came as members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Media Team wrapped up the third day of an inspection tour of federal and state government projects across Kogi State.
During a visit to Gbede in Yagba West Local Government Area, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said residents were pleased with the progress of federal projects in the state and would demonstrate their appreciation by supporting President Tinubu and the APC at the polls in 2027.
Fanwo noted that the President’s reform policies had increased financial resources available to states, allowing the Kogi State Government to embark on major development projects across different sectors.
Leading the delegation, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, said the projects inspected reflected the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that the administration was delivering on its promises through visible development initiatives.
The team visited several completed and ongoing projects, including a 15-kilometre asphalted internal road network with drainage systems, a newly completed Primary Health Centre in Gbede, and the reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran–Ilorin Road being undertaken by the Federal Government.
Other locations inspected included rural road projects in Okene, the International Market in Lokoja, which is currently about halfway completed, and the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja.
Dare praised Governor Usman Ododo’s administration for investing in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, security, and human capital development, describing the projects as complementary to the Federal Government’s development agenda.
He stressed that road infrastructure remains central to national development, highlighting several ongoing road projects across the country, including the long-abandoned Kabba–Ilorin Road, which has now received approval for reconstruction.
According to him, improving strategic transport routes will enhance connectivity, support economic activities, and ease the movement of goods nationwide.
Dare also pointed to the revitalisation of over 1,000 Primary Health Centres across Nigeria, saying the administration’s development efforts are evident in healthcare, education, agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, and the oil and gas sector.
Local government officials, including Yagba West Chairman Tosin Olokun and Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management Joseph Oluwasegun, commended Governor Ododo for accelerating development in the area and recognising the community through key government appointments.
In Okene, the Commissioner for Works, Barrister Deedat, showcased several infrastructure projects, including concrete roads, bridges, and erosion control works, while expressing confidence that Kogi residents would continue supporting President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.
Also addressing the delegation, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement, Fredrick Nwabufo, said the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development was intended to stimulate economic growth and create lasting benefits across multiple sectors.
