The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Ayodele Ogunsan, has expressed deep sadness over the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), Lagos State Command, Khan Salihu, describing him as a disciplined and highly professional officer who served with humility and dedication.

In a condolence statement, Ogunsan said the late senior officer’s passing represents a significant loss to the security architecture of Lagos State, where he contributed meaningfully to administrative operations within the police command.
He extended his sympathies to the family of the deceased, the Inspector-General of Police, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, and all officers and personnel of the command.
Ogunsan described the late DCP as a kind-hearted and respectful officer who consistently demonstrated professionalism and compassion in his interactions with colleagues and members of the public.

He noted that Khan Salihu was widely respected within the security community for his calm disposition, accessibility and commitment to duty, adding that his death has left a void that will be difficult to fill.
According to him, the late officer played a key role in strengthening administrative coordination within the Lagos State Police Command and was regarded as a dependable and trusted figure among his peers.

He urged the bereaved family and the police community to take solace in the legacy of service and integrity left behind by the deceased, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has dismissed reports suggesting that the officer was involved in any kidnapping incident prior to his death.

The command clarified that DCP Khan Salihu died after a brief illness and was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
It described earlier reports linking his death to an abduction as false and misleading, urging the public and media practitioners to verify information before publication.
The police further called for a retraction of the inaccurate reports, reiterating that the officer was never kidnapped at any point before his passing.
