Several people were reportedly killed while others were abducted after armed bandits carried out a deadly overnight attack in parts of Kwara State on Saturday.
The attackers invaded communities around the Ikerin and Ajuba area in Ekiti Local Government Area, causing panic among residents as gunfire echoed through the area for hours.
Sources within the community revealed that many residents also sustained injuries during the invasion, although the exact number of victims has not yet been officially confirmed.
According to locals, the gunmen moved through the area without immediate confrontation, forcing many families to flee their homes in fear.
A resident explained that the community was thrown into confusion as people woke up to continuous gunshots and cries for help, with several individuals still unaccounted for after the attack.
Communities in Kwara South have continued to experience rising insecurity in recent months, with repeated cases of kidnappings, violent raids, and attacks disrupting farming activities and daily movement across the region.
