A kidnapped pregnant farmer has reportedly given birth while being held captive by bandits, who are demanding N94 million as ransom for the release of her and other victims.
The woman was among several people abducted by the armed group in a farming community. According to reports, she was already pregnant when she was taken into captivity.
While in the custody of the kidnappers, she reportedly went into labour and gave birth.
The incident has heightened concerns among residents over the growing insecurity affecting farming communities, particularly the vulnerability of farmers who travel to their fields.
The abductors are reportedly demanding a total ransom of N94 million for the release of the victims. Efforts to secure their freedom and ensure their safe return are ongoing.
