Fellow Nigerians,
As we embrace the dawn of 2025, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyous and prosperous New Year. May this year bring abundance in happiness, health, and success to you and your loved ones.
The New Year marks a fresh chapter, filled with aspirations and opportunities for brighter days ahead. By the grace of God, 2025 will be a year where we achieve our collective dreams and ambitions.
Reflecting on 2024, we recognize the challenges that tested many households. Yet, the resilience of Nigerians remains unshaken, and I am optimistic that this New Year will bring transformative progress.
A Promising Economic Outlook
Key economic indicators point to a positive trajectory for our nation. Fuel prices have steadily decreased, foreign trade surpluses have been recorded for three consecutive quarters, and the Naira has strengthened against the US dollar. The stock market has seen unprecedented growth, generating trillions of naira in wealth. Moreover, increased foreign investment signifies renewed global confidence in Nigeria’s economy.
However, the cost of food and essential drugs remains a pressing concern for many households. Addressing these issues is a top priority for our administration in 2025.
2025: A Year of Action and Reform
Our government is committed to reducing inflation from its current 34.6% to 15% by boosting food production and promoting local manufacturing of essential medical supplies. Through diligence and unity, we will bring relief to Nigerians and create a more stable economy.
This year, we will establish the National Credit Guarantee Company to expand access to credit for individuals and businesses. This initiative, set to launch by the second quarter, is a collaboration between government institutions, the private sector, and multilateral agencies. It will enhance financial confidence, empower women and youth, and drive economic growth and industrialization.
Strengthening Unity and Patriotism
Building a great Nigeria requires a collective commitment to shared values and national identity. In the first quarter of 2025, we will unveil the National Values Charter, a cornerstone of our National Identity Project. This initiative will foster patriotism, strengthen trust between citizens and government, and inspire collaboration among our diverse population.
The upcoming Youth Confab, organized by the Ministry of Youth, will ensure inclusivity and provide a platform for young Nigerians to contribute to nation-building.
Call to Action
To our governors and local leaders, I urge continued collaboration with the federal government to harness opportunities in agriculture, energy, and tax reforms. I commend those who have embraced our Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative and adopted electric vehicles as part of our energy transition strategy.
To every Nigerian, your sacrifices over the past 19 months have laid the foundation for a brighter future. Together, let us remain steadfast in our pursuit of a Nigeria that works for everyone, leaving behind divisive tendencies of politics, ethnicity, and religion.
A Vision for the Future
As we journey through 2025, let us continue to believe in ourselves and our nation. This year brings us closer to the Nigeria of our dreams—a nation of prosperity, unity, and opportunity for all.
May God bless you and our beloved country, Nigeria. Happy New Year and a prosperous 2025 to you all!

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
