A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the forfeiture of five properties linked to former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, who is currently serving a 75-year prison sentence for corruption-related offences.
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Maitama, issued the order on Thursday, July 2, 2026, following an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The court granted a permanent forfeiture order on Walijam Apartments, located at Plot 435, No. 43 Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, after the EFCC proved that the property was acquired through proceeds of unlawful activities.
The judge also granted interim forfeiture orders on four other properties linked to the former minister. They include Bloom Luxury Suites Nigeria Limited in Unguwan Rimi, Kaduna State; two properties located on Misratah Street, Wuse 2, Abuja; and A.U.A Plaza on Kade Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Justice Omotosho directed the EFCC to publish the interim forfeiture order in a national newspaper within seven days to allow any interested parties to appear before the court and explain why the properties should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
The EFCC had prosecuted Mamman on an amended 12-count charge involving alleged corruption and money laundering amounting to N33.8 billion.
Justice Omotosho convicted the former minister on all charges on May 7, 2026, and sentenced him to 75 years imprisonment on May 13, 2026.
During the trial, the court also ordered Mamman to refund N22 billion traced by the anti-graft agency, while additional assets believed to have been acquired through illicit proceeds were recovered.
