Solomon Adeola, widely known as Yayi, has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election in Ogun State.
The announcement was made by Governor Dapo Abiodun during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday.
Reacting to his endorsement, Adeola appreciated party leaders and members for the confidence placed in him, promising to build on existing achievements and drive further development across the state. He also acknowledged the efforts and sacrifices of other aspirants, stressing the importance of unity within the party.
He described Ogun State as a key player in Nigeria’s industrial and economic growth, noting its position as one of the most industrialised and rapidly growing economies in the country. Adeola assured stakeholders that he would sustain peace, continuity, and progress in governance.
The senator further pledged to foster inclusiveness and bring all party members together, regardless of political differences, while maintaining stability and unity within the state.
Adeola added that his emergence signals the beginning of a new chapter for Ogun State, reaffirming his commitment to advancing development and strengthening cohesion across the region.
