The Supreme Court has ordered the final forfeiture of seven luxury properties linked to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele

In a unanimous judgment delivered by a five-member panel led by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, the apex court set aside an earlier Court of Appeal decision that had ordered a retrial of the case.
The ruling restored the judgment of the Federal High Court in Lagos, which had ordered the permanent forfeiture of the properties.
The decision effectively brings an end to Emefiele’s legal challenge over the seizure of the assets, affirming the final forfeiture order issued by the lower court.
