On the 26th day of Ramadhan, Muslims seek Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and protection from Hellfire. The last ten nights of Ramadhan, especially the odd nights, hold immense significance as they may include Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree), which is better than a thousand months (Qur’an 97:3).
Here are some recommended prayers (duas) for the 26th day of Ramadhan:
1. Dua for Mercy and Forgiveness
اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni.
O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.
2. Dua for Acceptance of Worship
اللهم تقبل منا صيامنا وقيامنا وسائر أعمالنا
Allahumma taqabbal minna siyamana wa qiyamana wa sa’ira a’malina.
O Allah, accept from us our fasting, our prayers, and all our good deeds.
3. Dua for Protection from Hellfire
اللهم أجرنا من النار
Allahumma ajirna min an-naar.
O Allah, protect us from the Fire.
4. Dua for Laylatul Qadr (If It Falls on This Night)
اللهم بلغنا ليلة القدر واجعل لنا فيها نصيبًا من الخير والرحمة والمغفرة
Allahumma ballighna Laylatul Qadr, waj‘al lana feeha naseeban min al-khayr, wal-rahmah, wal-maghfirah.
O Allah, allow us to witness Laylatul Qadr and grant us a share of its goodness, mercy, and forgiveness.
5. Dua for Success in Both Worlds
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina ‘adhaban-naar.
O our Lord, grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the Fire. (Qur’an 2:201)
May Allah accept your prayers, grant you His mercy, and bless you with the rewards of Laylatul Qadr. Ameen.

On the 26th day of Ramadhan, Muslims continue seeking Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and salvation from Hellfire, as the last ten nights of Ramadhan are the most spiritually significant. Here are some relevant hadiths:
1. The Virtue of the Last Ten Nights of Ramadhan
Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever stands (in prayer) on the Night of Qadr with faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 2014, Sahih Muslim 760)
This hadith encourages increased worship during the last ten nights, as Laylatul Qadr could be on any of these nights, including the 26th night.
2. Seeking Forgiveness in Ramadhan
Aisha (RA) asked the Prophet (ﷺ):
“O Messenger of Allah, if I know which night is Laylatul Qadr, what should I say?”
He replied:
“Say: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni”
(O Allah, You are Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me).
(Sunan Ibn Majah 3850, Tirmidhi 3513)
3. Salvation from Hellfire in the Last Ten Days
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Ramadhan is a month whose beginning is mercy, its middle is forgiveness, and its end is salvation from the Fire.”
(Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1887)
Since the last ten days are for salvation from Hellfire, the 26th night is a crucial time to make sincere supplications.
4. The Importance of Itikaf in the Last Ten Nights
Aisha (RA) narrated:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) used to observe I’tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadhan until he passed away.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 2026, Sahih Muslim 1171)
Many Muslims engage in I’tikaf (spiritual retreat) during this time, seeking closeness to Allah.
5. The Reward of Night Prayers
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever prays at night in Ramadhan with sincere faith and hoping for reward, all his past sins will be forgiven.”

On the 26th day of Ramadhan, as the last ten nights continue, Muslims seek Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and salvation from Hellfire, especially in the hope of witnessing Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree). Here are some Qur’anic verses relevant to this night and the final days of Ramadhan:
1. The Blessings of Laylatul Qadr
Surah Al-Qadr (97:1-5)
إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ
لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ
تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ
“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree.
And what can make you know what the Night of Decree is?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”
This verse emphasizes the immense blessings of Laylatul Qadr, which may fall on the 26th night or another odd night of the last ten days.
2. Dua for Forgiveness
Surah Az-Zumar (39:53)
قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’”
This verse is a powerful reminder that in these last nights of Ramadhan, Allah’s mercy and forgiveness are limitless.
3. The Power of Du’a in the Last Nights
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:186)
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ
“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.”
This verse encourages believers to make intense du’a (supplication), especially during the last ten nights.
4. The Importance of Seeking Refuge from Hellfire
Surah Al-Tahrim (66:6)
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ
“O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones.”
This verse reminds us of the significance of praying for protection from Hellfire, a key focus in the final days of Ramadhan.
5. The Reward of Worship and Patience
Surah Al-Zumar (39:10)
إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى ٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَ أَجْرَهُم بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ
“Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account.”
This verse reassures those who remain steadfast in worship that Allah’s reward is limitless—an encouragement for increased prayer, fasting, and devotion in these last nights.

These Qur’anic verses highlight the importance of worship, du’a, and seeking forgiveness in the final days of Ramadhan. The 26th night may or may not be Laylatul Qadr, but every moment in these nights is an opportunity for immense reward.
