Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Nigeria after representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2026 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Shettima attended the high-level UNGA sessions and participated in several engagements focused on Nigeria’s interests and priorities on the global stage.
His return follows the conclusion of the United Nations General Assembly meetings, where world leaders and senior government officials gathered to discuss major international, economic and development issues.
The Vice President had represented President Tinubu at the annual gathering after the President proceeded on his annual vacation.
Shettima is expected to resume his official duties in Nigeria following his return to the country.
