A wedding celebration has sparked widespread reactions online after a video showed a man alleged to be the bride’s former sugar daddy approaching her during the ceremony and spraying money on her.
The incident reportedly occurred while the bride and her friends were dancing during the wedding reception.
According to the reports accompanying the viral clip, the man, identified only as “Chief,” walked onto the stage and began spraying naira notes on the bride.
The situation became uncomfortable when he reportedly placed some of the money on the bride’s body while appearing to have a private conversation with her.
Several people on the stage were seen attempting to intervene and move the man away from the bride. Security personnel eventually stepped in and escorted him from the stage.
The bride’s friends subsequently gathered around her, apparently in an effort to shield her and prevent the incident from further disrupting the celebration.
The video has since generated a wave of reactions across social media, with users offering different interpretations of the encounter.
Some commenters claimed that the man appeared familiar to the bride and suggested that the pair may have had a previous relationship. Others argued that the incident was simply an example of a guest celebrating the bride in an inappropriate manner.
Some social media users also criticised the manner in which the money was sprayed, arguing that wedding traditions should be observed with respect and dignity.

Others, however, viewed the incident humorously and speculated about the man’s relationship with the bride.
Despite the differing reactions, the viral footage has continued to generate debate about money spraying at Nigerian weddings and the boundaries that guests should observe when celebrating couples on their special day.
