Ahead of the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, a political group, Peculiar Peoples Progress, has intensified grassroots mobilisation in Ayedire Local Government Area in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

The group embarked on a door-to-door campaign and distributed food and cash to more than 200 households in the council.
The convener, Mrs Ige Adeyanju, said the initiative was aimed at appreciating loyal APC supporters while strengthening grassroots support for Oyebamiji ahead of the election.

According to her, about 200 women benefited from the empowerment exercise, noting that women play an important role in influencing decisions within their households and communities.
Adeyanju expressed confidence that the mobilisation would translate into votes for AMBO, saying the women would encourage their husbands, children and dependants to support the APC candidate.

She also urged residents to participate in the governorship election, while promising that an Oyebamiji-led administration would prioritise the welfare and empowerment of women.
The APC has stepped up its person-to-person and house-to-house campaign across Osun as it seeks to win the governorship election.
